BBB,

I think this one is in far better condition than the one you posted earlier!! If you can get this one at a reasonable price. I'd go for it!!

Good luck!!

Yes, Berlyn, this one was bought by the present owner's mother in either 1940 or 41, she's not positive which.
She has had it in her garage since her mother stopped cooking, about 6 years. She doesn't like to cook. Has been stored wrapped in plastic. Everything is still there, and working, except no paperwork.
We bought it for $500, plus $50 to meet us halfway, where we will transfer from their truck to ours.
Saves about 5 hours driving time.

Is it perfect? No. There is chipped porcelain around the storage door handle. And someone took a wire brush or something to the chrome top, and wore right through the chrome in one place. But it is spotless other than that. This stove will NOT need much cleaning, there is no grease or gunk build up, the gas lines look like yours did after you cleaned them!

Are there better deals out there? Probably. Near me? Probably not. With the cost of shipping, or driving long distance, I thought it was worth it to pay a bit more for this one-owner stove.

And it has the big thermowell pot, in great shape, and I already bought a set of triples, and a big Lisk roaster! Now have to build a small "summer kitchen" for it, so I can use it before the house gets built!
The kitchen will of course be designed around this stove!

I saw this older post http://www.hostboard.com/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic&f=7954&t=858 about a B and took a chance and pm'd Julie, who said she had NOT yet sold the stove but had been planning to put an ad out soon. Her stove is original to her family, and older than she is!
We are in NE Arizona, so she is not too far to drive and pick up the stove! The only downside is it being a B, set up for NG, so we will need to change over to propane.

Isn't she beautiful!

There is also a BZ within driving distance, but pretty beat up, with an unmotivated seller (placed an ad, but now won't give me further details...too busy) so I may low ball him, and if I can get it for $200 or under maybe get it and take what I need and part out the rest. Maybe I can recoup most of the $ from the beater....

Well, now I know what manuals to order, will have to get on that tomorrow.

I'm too excited to sleeeeeeep!

Did I mention how beautiful she is?

Congratulations! Make sure that you read the postings to the board about moving a Chambers stove before you do so. There are lots of good tips.

bbbuddy:

Welcome, you have been assimilated. Resistance is futile.

Looks great, and you've got a pot, which along with the tri's and Lisk have got you set for most everything in the recipe book.

If you get that BZ for a good deal, you'll have all you need to easily convert to Propane and have a beautiful stove.

Have fun!

Joe P.

Welcome to the CHAMBERS family!

Be sure and get the Service Manual and Cookbook (doubles as an Operation Manual) from Sam or I.

Joe, this post is for you.

I've bought an unrestored bz for $112 on Ebay. Thing is, it doesn't look like a BZ. It has a lowback like a C, but with a fold-up top.

While the BZ highback was my favorite style, this one was priced right and in a great location. I couldn't pass it up.

But regardless, I thought you'd like to know that you were correct! I have been assimilated.

Greetings Joe, and congratulations to fellow new owner Kim!
I have never even touched a Chambers stove, but last night I was busily making Scotch broth in my thermowell, then later a big pot of beans!
Aren't dreams fun? It was so real.

Joe, I have indeed thought about getting the other stove, using what I need off of it, then parting out the rest on ebay, to recoup my $ from it.

I have yet to bring it up to my husband though.

Since the storage door is chipped around the handle, an older model door would match better than reporcelaining, from something I read here? Or did I mis-read?
